I was in Alcudia 2 years ago and went to Porto Pollensa for the day but I found it very quiet and mainly retired people doing nothing.

Have been to puerto pollensa a long time ago but the Villa Concha was nice on a small complex and self catering apts with balconies. The beach is a short walk away. Some self catering apts are further into town and not easily accessible to the beach unless you want a long walk! However its quite family orientated. If you want a holiday with just adults for company I would suggest hiring an apt for the week there is a website http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk  which caters for Puerto Pollensa but only limited apt for two people most for 4 or six but some may give you reduced rates if just 2 of you.

I would also recommend using http://www.tripadvisor.com if you wish reviews of known apartments as people send in their reviews of the places but this is again up to the individual's thoughts on the place.
