say at school, if someone is starting on you with an angry look on his face , is it acceptable to...... well ..... knock the fuc out of them?

im taking kung fu and im capable of knocking a guy out. there is a guy at school who is always starting on me, sometimes hes just does it to scare me, sometimes he actually hits, it depends. (he beat up a poor little guy last week and i felt sorry for him and wished i could help him ).knowing that i could mawl him gives me confidence and i dont feel scared - but im worried about, well.... the consequences. would i have to go to court or some kinda kid prison because i was scared for my own neck?

im not stupid, and am a nice guy who would probably cry if someone simply squashed a fly. so you can imagine im pretty sensitive. im not the kinda guy who goes around hitting folk basically.

and i feel scared sometims because if i defend myself at school i still get in trouble its dreadful if someguy wants to break my neck i always get in trouble!!!!

  1. At most schools it doesn't matter who starts the fight both are guilty. Also some schools call the police for eveything. If there is no way to avoid a confrontation hit first hit hard and keep hitting till you are seperated. The advice of letting him throw the first punch is wrong, alot of fights have been decided by the first punch, say he hits your nose, the eyes water you can't see hard to fight that way.

  2. throw chairs at them, evil fools!!

  3. Good point about school policy and proving self defense.  Something to consider: in a previous life I was a school teacher.  I encountered numerous bullying situations.  I handled every one the same.  I told the bully, "If you bully him/her, I bully you.  And, trust me, I will never touch you, but you will leave here crying."  Usually, that was sufficient to get the point across.  Once or twice, the bully responded by threatening me.  Then I read to them from the Michigan School Code:

"A person employed by or engaged as a volunteer or contractor by a local or intermediate school board or public school academy may use reasonable physical force upon a pupil as necessary to maintain order and control in a school or school-related setting for the purpose of providing an environment conducive to safety and learning. In maintaining that order and control, the person may use physical force upon a pupil as may be necessary for 1 or more of the following:

    (a) To restrain or remove a pupil whose behavior is interfering with the orderly exercise and performance

of school district or public school academy functions within a school or at a school-related activity, if that pupil has refused to comply with a request to refrain from further disruptive acts.

    (b) For self-defense or the defense of another.

    (c) To prevent a pupil from inflicting harm on himself or herself.

    (d) To quell a disturbance that threatens physical injury to any person.

    (e) To obtain possession of a weapon or other dangerous object upon or within the control of a pupil.

    (f) To protect property."

I then assured the bully, if it becomes necessary for me to restrain you, I can assure you that it will not be comfortable and will likely be quite painful.  In every case, one of my wrestlers or football players was within earshot or witnessed the exchange, and verified my assertion.

The key is restraint, not retaliation, not reciprocity.  If you have studies martial arts as you say, you have probably learned submission holds.  If you haven't, change dojo's and request a refund.

Sun Tsu said something to the affect: The most successful battle is one in which no shot is fired.  I am paraphrasing, but the intent is the same.  Basically, you are more often better off to engage "Dog Psychology" than to throw a punch.  Intimidation is a passive tool; the damage you can do to your opponent will always be less than what your opponent THINKS you can do--use that.  Just be prepared to deliver if it comes to it.

  4. Someone starting on you with an angry look.............

    Enjoy prison Sparky...........

  5. That's the thing about self-defence.  He has to hit you first.  You can't touch him if he's talking bad to you.  However, if you see him beating the life out of someone you could interfere.  You might get suspended but at least you'll stand up for your principle.  High school bullies are stupid!

  6. What others have said above about self defense is true.  You would have self defense if you were hit first or reasonably believed you were about to be hit, you don't have to take the first punch.  You can only use as much violence as necessary to stop the attack, you can't "ground and pound."

There are certain realities to self defense you must understand.  First, as a juvenile, you get no jury for your trial, you get a judge.  Remember that.  If you have no witnesses, judges in juvenile cases usually convict "for the benefit of the child" meaning you.  Juvenile court is a very unfair place to be, trust me.

Also remember the severity of injury rule.  It happens sometimes that Guy A throws a punch against Guy B.  Guy B grabs Guy As arm and breaks it.  Chances are that Guy B is going to get prosecuted even though he had the right of self defense.  Also the severity of injury rule isn't written down anywhere, if one guy gets really messed up in a fight while the other is perfectly fine, the uninjured party could get in trouble.

  7. Read your Student handbook. Most schools consider ANY offensive action, grounds for suspension. All you are allowed to do is get away from the person or roll up in a ball to prevent injury. Otherwise, you are "fighting".

  8. Honey I have kids in Jr. High and Grade School..boys..and my father taught me to Box with the promise never to throw the 1st punch..I agreed....and became pretty good at it. If there is some one who is getting beat on for no reason[be sure of that1st] and there are no witnesses knock them down. If there are witnesses make sure they throw the 1st hit then teach them a lesson they won't forget..deep inside every bully is a coward.

  9. as this man  seed ,the police mines are thinking villains ,you can actually see it in their ayes. the job mack them to be Violante and aggressive tort the public.cops should not be perform the Dody's in small towns, for long period of time, they must be rotated to a deferred towns.all police are very valiant and dangers to a society l**k the gangster the selves,is the pressure of a Job. second all police in all towns must be Federal and not payee by the town, the home owner only.it grime it self. all country's in Europe are working for the coverlet.

to Manny chiefs and sargens, socking the home owner  monny.the are not werth the trobouls, in small towns.

  10. If somebody's threatening or challenging you, then walk away.

    If he follows you, run.

If he catches you, then you beat the living s**++ out of him.

Never use force if you can avoid it. And perhaps one thing you should do to avoid being harassed in the first place, is to make more friends and walk between classes and to/from the bus with them for mutual protection. Bullies don't mess with you when you have numbers on your side, and it's a lot more effective than all the kung-fu training in the world.

  11. Self defense is an affirmative defense. This means it is up to you to prove you had the right to use it. Laws vary by state, but all require you only use equal force in protection, and some have a duty to retreat.

Even if you believe you have a valid self defense, you still have to deal with school policy. This means it is very likely you will get suspended, regardless of who starts it. Especially if it is an ongoing problem, and you have not reported it.
