Self dial telephone?

Could anybody give full description to it? Context:All rooms are well-equipped with refrigerator, dial-up internet connection, cable TV and radio, self-dial telephone with IDD service, coffee/tea making ...

In addition to being able to dial out of the hotel without going through the switchboard, "IDD service" means that people can also telephone directly to the room without calling the hotel switchboard.

I think it means that the phone can dial an outside number, rather than having to connect via the switchboard in reception.
