  1. It takes a special person with a strong commitment to be self-employed. If you are driven to succeed, can survive in good times and bad, have researched your market and competition, then by all means self employment can be a good idea. But ..... if you are not that type of person and can't commit 24 hours a day for many years, or if your type of business can't provide a realistic income, provide retirement and benefis, then don't even attempt it. It would be good to start out with your own business and "get your feet wet" before giving up your secure job.

  2. Yes.

BUT, you become responsible for providing your own benefits.  Don't skimp on that - that's where most unhappily self employed people skimp, and it backfires in the long run.

  3. Self-employed is a very good idea with considering all pros and cons and get insured every thing and have patientence

  4. ~~That is a tough question to answer. My husband has been self-employed since the 1980's. You have to have a desire to make it no matter what. You must decide you will have no life except for your business for quite a few years, and maybe longer before you can have it run without you. You must take all responsibility through good and very difficult economic times, and do without to make sure your business stays solvent. It takes a strong drive which does not recognize the word defeat. My husband has that type of personality-I do not. I would much rather leave all the headaches and worries with someone else when I sign out. You have to be responsible, pay taxes, keep a ridiculous amount of paperwork straight, and makes sure every customer is taken care of immediately and satisfaction made. Only you can answer that question. I look at your own business as having a ball and chain around your leg 24 /7 and it never comes off. My husband looks at it as a daily challenge and victory. I hope that kind of explains, it's all about personality and personal drive. Owning your own business will be the hardest work you ever done, but for some this is a satisfaction they aren't able to find any other way.~~

  5. If you have kids yes if you know you need more experience then no, you can always open your business but you need to know how to survive, its a though world right now

  6. Absolutely....if you can make more money than working for someone else.  Some people aren't cut out for it, but if you are the advantages are numerous.
