Self-motivational tips for Bodybuilding
Bodybuilding is a tough sport in which one has to be motivated all the time, everyday day. It requires a lot of effort to be in the same frame of mind all the way. Here are a few tips which could be useful in this regard.
Start doing bodybuilding with having an ideal bodybuilder’s physique in your mind. A certain stage where you would want to reach one day, it keeps you motivated.
While doing the exercise keeping yourself motivated and not giving up is the key to success. When you find it difficult to exercise anymore, you have to think of a few things which might help you in order to carry it on a little further, i.e. self-praising,
competitions, pain management, rewards and lots more.
Say if you are finishing the last few reps and it is very hard for you to continue any further, think of a reward as if you are going to get a million pounds per rep, or any other reward that fascinates you, i.e. a pizza if you are on a diet.
Pain management is very important to keep going, try to enjoy pain which comes your way, not injury pain but hard work pain. Start thinking as if it is not the pain rather something else, it sounds funny but really works out. Start thinking of a personality
that is not liked by you and think as if it is being transferred over there. Tolerance is a very big factor which helps you to push it further.
Self-praising is also good. Tell yourself how strong and physically fit you are and how this weight is a child’s play for you.
If you are doing dumbbell presses, imagine as if there is some magnetic field present pulling the dumbbells down and you have to fight against it, if you are benching you have to keep thinking as if the bar is being repelled by your chest, these little thoughts
can really be useful in the last reps.
Having a competition with your training partner could also be very useful, place a bet. Whoever gets a certain amount of body weight or do more reps buy the other, a dinner. This dramatically increases the level of intensity.
Threats could also be useful. You can have a thought of someone pointing a gun towards you and is saying ‘three more reps.’ You would somehow find a way of doing those three.
Imagine you have a mentor or someone you want to impress standing in front of you, encouraging you, and seeing you doing your last sets. Imagine as if they are pushing you to do it harder and harder.
Another trick could be the breaking of sets into small sets of five reps, instead of one big. When you find you cannot do five reps a set, start doing three reps a set, if three reps are not doable for you, then try for a single rep. This can stretch you
to the maximum of your limits.
Before starting a set, put a few images of explosive energies in your mind i.e. rocket, explosions, tank fires etc. This is going to give you an extra kick in your pants and would start up your adrenaline for going an extra mile.
These a few tips can really help you with it. The big names in the world of bodybuilding we know are the people who go to gym with same level of motivation everyday and this is why they are recognised all over the world.
