  1. Try Pointer System for piano.

The different levels should cost you about $5 per book.

    Put

Pointer System Piano  into a search engine.

I think it is a comfortable system for those who are self taught.

  2. I think its the "flexibilty" of your left hand fingers thas causing you these difficulties. I had self taught piano myself too, so I think there are afew exercises that can help you become better in your fingering.

I have some resource on this, which is up and coming, though I haven't put it up yet. Its here at www.SingWithPiano.com Do visit it in the future and probably you'll learn some practical stuff for your left hand fingers "flexibility"

  3. I self taught myself, with my mum's help, and I learnt to do them at the same time by Scales.

I did and still do, the 'C' scale with my right hand (2 octaves) and then my left hand (2 octaves again) and then slowly I learnt to play them together, starting with one octave then going to 2. Then I did every other scale.

Next I went on to using my right hand in double time, and the left single time.

    The notes look like:

right hand :CD EF GF ED CD EF GF ED CD

    left hand    :C    D   E    F    G   F   E   D    C

And I too taught myself the Fur Elise, and I learnt both hands separately, and then slowly put them together.

Also, just go through your chords and broken chords. They always help!

Hope that helps, and good luck!

    xx

  4. It is difficult putting both hands together. I usually practice both hands separately until I don't have to even think about my left hand anymore and then put the right hand with it. It just takes lots and lots of practice.
