Question:

Sell SLR Camera, Lenses, Flash on EBAY as group?

I have a manual SLR camera (Pentax MX), three lenses (50mm, 28mm wide angle, 100-300mm zoom) and a flash that I want to sell on EBAY.

The lenses go with the camera, but can be used for other like-cameras (model and type). The flash can be used with any manual SLR camera. All of them are in mint condition.

Here's the question:

Should I sell them as a group on EBAY as a group, or sell them individually?

Thanks for your help!

  1. I think with your brand of camera,  it would be better to sell it as a set.    If you could hold off putting on eBay to see if you could sell locally and perhaps get a better price,  check with and put up an ad with Craig's List in your city.   At the same time,  join Photo (.net) and place a classified there, which is nation wide.   I have bought and sold on Craig's List... as well as Photo (.net).  As far as selling,  I was lucky to get a better price for my equipment on those sites than through eBay.  And for buying,  I think I made some pretty good deals that I am still smiling about.    Test the waters and check out those sites.   They are both free to post.

  2. Sell 'em as a group. If sold separately, think about how much shipping you'll have to pay.

  3. If you decide to sell your equipment, sell it as a package.

However, don't forget that your lenses will mount to the latest Pentax DSLR cameras.

  4. I have found it much easier to sell my used photo equipment on craigslist.  There is  no hassle with shipping and the buyer gives you cash.
