  1. To do well he needs to get high up in the search engine results. There are many ways to do this but the main point is that your webpages need to be optimized for the term you are trying to get visitors for.  For example, every page on his site should have the words "Barbers Chair" in the title, meta description tag and meta keyword tag. You can search for these online to get more information on them. I see he ranks well for phrases such as "Nightingale Barbers Chair" but I suspect he should focus on more generic barbers terms.

Also, he needs to get links to his site. The text (referred to as anchor text) should again contain the phrase he wishes to rank for, so he may want a link with the words "Cheapest Barbers Chairs" or "Bargain Salon Equipment" etc. There are many ways to get links. A good uk based link exchange program can be found at www.uklinkexchange.co.uk..

Another way of getting links would be to write articles on Barbers Chairs and post them onto Article Directories such as EzineArticles.com. Such Articles allow you to put a link with the relevant anchor text in a resource box at the end of your article. As people use the articles on their sites you get more links back to yours.

He could also use social bookmarking sites such as digg and del.icio.us, create a blog, advertise using youtube or register with facebook and find any barber related groups and advertise there. Forums are also a good place to post, but don't spam. Make comments and include a link to your site with the relevant text in your signature and people will come.

There are also options such as Pay Per Click advertising. The most common is Google Adwords. Be very careful here. Mastering them is not easy and you can lose a lot of money before you realise it. There are many resources available online about this so read up on it first.

Finally, be patient. It's not like opening a shop on the high street and people will come in. It all takes time. If you put the effort in you will get the rewards but it may not be for a few months.

    Good Luck
