Selling a private/cherished numberplate that is currently on retention?

Does anybody know how to get rid of a numberplate on retention? I've tried ebay and it is with various websites but nobody actually buys it form you - its just advertisd. I really need a quick sale. Any help or advice appreciated.

Unless its very good number you will find it almost impossible to sell !  A dealer will only offer you around half of its value (if its a good number). Cant tell you any more without knowing what the number is, if it makes you feel any better i have had one for sale 6 years and no offers as yet. PS its a good number

there is a company called elite registrations, try looking them up and see if they can help.. apart from that i dont really know..
