I had posted my add on craig's list in Alaska on saturday. And the very next morning i had gotten an email from a man who said he's pay an extra two hundred dollars if I sent it to Nigeria for his uncle. The man's area code says that he is in Seattle. Said he'd use pay pal Everything has seemed ok but I'm sure if I should go though with it. So far Pay Pal has asked me to send a tracking number and a verification that i have sent it. Well 3 different emails saying the same thing but just all at once. It feel sketchy so I though I'd get some other people's opinion thank you for helping.

  1. You probably aren't allowed to send them legally.  Many computers produced in the last 5 years or so are protected under international munitions laws (they're considered weapons due to their processor speed and use of 128+ bit encryption) so it's illegal to sell them internationally.

  2. first find out how much it will cost to send it to nigeria. go to UPS or Fed Ex or whoever. if its worth doing, tell them to send you the money first and then do it. otherwise i wouldnt do it. most people in nigeria cant afford a laptop.

  3. it is probably another nigerian scam i wouldnt sell it to him tell him sorry i cannot give you the laptop alot of the scams leave numbers i get emails everyday from nigeria telling me you have won 1 million dollars to get the money send us 100

  4. Mildrid is right---my motto is "show me the money!" Do NOT sell any thing without getting your payment first.Nigerians are infamous for their 1 million dollars lottery prize scam.Beware.

  5. No No No RUN AWAY

You will receive a phony PayPal transfer from a phony PayPal site.

Or, you will receive a real PayPal made with a stolen charge card which PayPal will take back in a week or two

Or you will receive a forged cheque or money order.

Don't be stupid, do not send the goods anywhere.

Craigslist is for local, face to face transactions only. There is no reason for someone from thousands of miles away to be trolling your local Craigslist, other than to cheat you.

    >>but if u get the money first and u can take it out then i say ship it but ship it from a different address

    >>first find out how much it will cost to send it to nigeria. go to UPS or Fed Ex or whoever. if its worth doing, tell them to send you the money first and then do it.

Bad, bad advice.  Don't try to scam the scammer. Don't think you are smarter than they are, or that you know what the game is.  You will lose every time.

  6. its a scam buddy, i posted something on ebay and i guy sent me a message in 1 day saying hes going to pay 300 or so more then what i put it up for. The first day i put my product on ebay, ebay them selves sent me a msg telling me that there is a scam where a guy is going to ask u for ur product for 300 dollars more then what your asking for. SO DONT DO IT, just ignore.

but if u get the money first and u can take it out then i say ship it but ship it from a different address incase hes tracking u down, so if you live 123 fake street send from 743 evergreen terrace....lol ok

  7. don't do it, trust me.  I have this happen before on ebay.  Don't you think it's sketchy that they guy would've paid 200 more dollars just to have you sent him the laptops? You would be wasting money on this guy and paypal would only give you half the price back if the guy happen to be fake.

  8. thats a scam.dont send it
