but i dont know where to start. I have some sites, but i want one thats good. i looked on ebay and they arent selling for anything. i have at least a thousand cards, and by that there are WAY to may to list what they are. i have a lot of doubles, and i want to make some money off of all of them. They were originally my bros, and i have never played, so i dont know what is good, or rare or anything. If anyone could help me by telling me sites, or even be willing to answer some questions and explain some of what would sell more, that would be great!

  1. I could help you out with that.  For starters, most cards from the newer sets are color coded.  Black symbol means Common, Silver is Uncommon, Gold is rare and purple is "Timeshifted" and is supposed to be "rarer than rare".  The symbol is located under the picture, above the text box.  The older cards aren't color coded and so you actually have to look them up to find the rare ones.  Also, there are a bunch of commons and uncommons that are worth a lot more than rares.  It really depends on what you have.  And unfortunately for you, since you don't play the game, it is hard to tell if it is a good card or not.  You can look them up one by one but that will take a long time.  And formulating a list will take a while but that is the best way to go, if you don't know how good the cards are.  Again, I am willing to help you out but I need a list to be able to tell you which ones are worth money and which are just "throw-aways".  And the older the cards, more than likely, the more money they are worth, generally.  If you want to look them up, then I would suggest:

    http://ww2.wizards.com/Gatherer/Index.as...

Just type in the name, or part of the name and it will bring up a list of cards that match what you typed in.  This will tell you if it's rare or not (if they don't have color symbols)  You can click on the name of the card and it will bring up a picture of the card so you can compare it to what you have.  Some cards are printed more than once so you may have to click through the symbols on the right side to find your actual card.

    For pricing, I would suggest:

    http://www.magictraders.com/

Type in the card name, or part of the card name, in the white box under "Search a Price Guide".  Then you can choose if it is a foil or non foil card.  Foils are shiny whereas non foils are not.  Foils are usually more expensive than the non-foil versions.  Anyways, this site takes all the online sale prices and averages it out for you.  So you will know what cards are selling for online.

A side note:  Some cards are better sold by themselves.  Others can just be thrown into a big lot for a lower price.

Again, I am happy to help out where I can.
