i wanted to donate plasma, well i wanted to sell my plasma. there is a place here in town that gives money for it. (yes i know i should just donate, but i'm in a bind) anyway. i was wondering if it hurt way more than giving blood (cause i do donate that very often) and also, if anyone has ever donated...when they give u money do u have to report it on your income tax at the end of the year? like, is it just cash or do u have to claim it. thank you :D

  1. I used to donate plasma and it does

not hurt. I used the money for bus fares,

having a pizza with friends etc.

I never claimed it on my income tax as

it is not enough money. Hope I was able to

    help.

    Have a good day

  2. Well, it hurts more than giving blood for some people, but if you're comfortable enough giving blood then it should be fine.  (It hurts a bit more for me, personally, but not enough to keep me from it.)

It's just cash... and I've never reported it.  (In fact, it had never even occurred to me to do so.)  I think if it were necessary to report it the IRS would make them mention it, maybe.

Anyway, make sure it's a reputable place cuz sometimes they're seedy and you can get diseases.  (I've never seen one that wasn't, but I've had people tell me stories.)

Oh, yeah... and ask how long it should take and then double it, just to be safe, if you have another appointment or something.  (I lost a job opportunity, the first time I gave plasma, cuz I didn't know it usually takes longer than they say.)

Oh, and bring a book or something, if you don't want to watch whatever cheesy thing they have playing. =)

    Good Luck!
