  1. My Shipper will come pick it up? This is a def. NO, NO!  Do not give out your address or any personal information via the Net. If Mr Nelson wanted to buy your books then he will do it the right way.

A money order is like a Check but it is bought and paid for through a bank or merchant outlet. It is an acceptable way of making payments. You will have to take the money order to your bank in order to cash it. Please check out the money order and make sure it has a verifiable finance institute stamp/watermark.

If it was me, I would have Mr. Nelson send Money Order along with his address so you can ship his purchase C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery) He will pay for any shipping cost and before you send anything make sure you can CASH the money order. If he does not wish to give his address or the address of his place of Business  where he can receive his purchase then tell him you will send it to his local post office. He can pick it up there.

    Hopes this helps.

  2. Ask for a postal money order then you can't go wrong. Don't accept a money order from like a ONE STOP convenience store, how do you know that store exists. And don't forward anything prior to payment or you may get burned, you have to watch out for YOURSELF these days.

  3. Its not a scam, a money order is where he goes and gets this thing that is  kinda like a check from a bank or post office or gas station, and he pays cash for it. However much your book is, say you are selling it for 40 bucks. I go get a money order for 40 bucks and give it to you. You are guaranteed the money it is already paid for, it can't bounce like a check, but this way you have a document of being paid, and he keeps the top half of the money order for his records. He is actually very nice to offer you that! That is one way of knowing he is legit!

  4. a money order is not a bad thing.  it is sort of like a check that someone buys with cash, it works just like a check.  It has a place for the buyer to put the receivers name and their address and such.. it sounds like this person has very broken english, so im not sure if you would trust that, and i wouldnt trust someone to go to your house and pick it up, but if you could meet at a very public place and make sure that the money order is real then it might not be that bad, it sounds like this guy wants multiple books, not just your one, so he might not have ready it correctly, just DONT give out your address and DO make sure its a real money order, if you're serious about this meeting i would suggest buying one for a couple dollars to see what it looks like (you can always re-deposit it)

    Good luck!

  5. Craigslist has a 'craigslist stalker' so to speak.

I get these all the time -- Oh, & by the way it's a scam.

  6. just dont ship them until you recieve the money

    tell him that

  7. I believe that this is the SCAM being worked:

    http://www.expertlaw.com/library/consume...

    1. He sends the M.O.

    2. Your bank makes the funds available to you, as required by law.

    3. You send your items to him.

    4. The bank later finds out that the M.O. is a FORGERY, and any money that you've used must be paid back to the bank -- by YOU.

The scammer has your stuff.  You have nothing, and in fact, you owe the bank.

On Craigslist, I'd go "cash only" and "pick-up only."  Use a "neutral territory" if you really want to be cautious (e.g., local mall or library).

  8. its a scam.. the money order they send you is a fake... then you have to pay the guy to pick them up... they will come and pick them up so you will lose that item.. a money order is just a pre written check from the bank... in their case it is a fake bank and check... they will then tell you to pay the shipper as they are unable to... and then you lost your item and the money you pay the shipper.. i was selling my truck for $10k,, they offered me $20k for my truck and all i had to do is pay the shipper guy was $5k,,, so i would esentially get 15 thousand for my truck that was only worth 10 thousand.. instead i would pay 5 thousand to the shipper and lose my truck...

  9. If that is exactly what was sent then it is a scam!!

    The grammar is just atrocious!!
