  1. The dealer will prob only give you 2000, if they offer more then they are hiding the extra money somewhere in the price of your new car purchase.

  2. I would go to kbb.com.  Kelly Blue Book is a good "guide" used at most dealerships.  You can see both the private party value and the trade-in value.  I would also use the lowest (fair or poor) values as most used vehicles do not fall in the excellent or good categories.  Also be aware of the market conditions,  you will probably do better trading in a fuel efficient car right now but take a loss on a gas hog truck.  Also many dealers use the values vehicles are getting at the auctions (which change daily) kkb.com and other sources are not as up to date as the auctions are for current market values.

  3. 2500 if youre lucky from exp sell it private party...craigslist, vehix, ebay....good luck

  4. Carmax is the best for that kind of deal.

  5. Seriously! $2000, maybe less.

  6. Carmax is the right place.....to avoid. They are the "Buy low sell high" kings. You will get hosed no matter what dealer you sell to. They are in business to make money from the trade and the sale. You don't say what year make and model it is but I would make a guess you would get no more than $2000.
