Question:

Selling to ebay buyer with 0 feedback...?

Someone bid on 6 of my auctions and they have 0 feedback. Have been a member since May and have NO bidding history at all, meaning this is the first time they've ever bid on anything and they're bidding on 6 of my things. Do you think that seems suspicious? I do and I'm considering blocking them and canceling their bids. Would you sell to them?

  1. well... i had that problem before...

it's sad for a seller because you can't leave neutral/negative feedback anymore.. so even the bidder is a scam, you can't do much about it...

but i guess you should keep the bid, coz if he/she doesnt pay in 7 days, you could just get your insertion fees and final value fees back... so... give the buyer a chance to earn their first + feedback!

  2. What?  They have ZERO feedback, so what if they are bidding on six of your things.  They don't have negative feedback and maybe they got an ebay account but just never got around to using it until now.  Unless he doesn't pay, I'd let it go.  Can you check and see what other auctions he is bidding on?

  3. Don't cancel the bids.  If everyone cancels bids of someone with 0 feedback, how will they ever get a better score?

Email them with your concerns, make payments due within 2 days of sale, and only accept PayPal.  PayPal helps to almost guarantee payments, and it's easier to keep track of than a check or money order.

I do find it strange that the same person is bidding on 6 of your items at the same time.

  4. I would keep the bids, but specify payment is required within 7 days. If payment isn't recevied in that time frame, then i would report them. Ebay will refund your FVF (Final Value Fees).

You can also try to contact the buyer explaining you wanted to touch base with them and make sure they were legit. I know i have done that before when I have had people with 0 feedback bid on my items.

  5. I would definitely cancel the bids and block that bidder. Something is definitely wrong. I've sold on eBay for years and I make it a practice to not deal with buyers with no feedback. I know many sellers who have the same policy. So, on top of no history, this guy is also up to something with the multiple bids on all of your auctions. Cancel the bids and block that bidder. Watch for the creation of a new account that comes back and does the same thing. If that happens, report it to eBay right away (reference the auction numbers).

    Good luck.

  6. See if they win the product and pay you if they don't go into your Ebay controls and block new users. you may find this person wants your stuff and as long as there willing to pay you who care's at least that way you can ship it altogether and you may have found a great client.

  7. I have sold to people that have had little or no feedback before and never had a problem.  The problem with '0' feedback is that we all have to start somewhere and the the inexperienced ebayer, the '0' won't mean as much as it does to us.  I expect you are not going to ship anything until it has been fully paid for so I would give the benefit of the doubt.

When I first started with ebay, I also did not use it for a while and then bought loads of stuff for the novelty value of online auctions.  I am sure this is the case for many people.

Ebay is much more secure than it used to be with sellers & buyers protection.

    You should be fine.

If they pay by Paypal or bankers draught / postal order, you can have the money in your account / hand the same day, if by cheque you don't post until the cheque has cleared, this is common practice for most ebayers.
