Sergei Semak has indicated that he may finish his playing career at Zenit St. Petersburg at the end of this season and has paid to Lokomotiv Moscow’s style of play
Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergei-Semak-c32976, has confirmed that he is thinking about hanging up his boots at the end of the ongoing Russian Premier League campaign. The 37-year-old’s current contract with the defending league
champions will expire this may.
“Several factors have helped me to make individual records. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Good-Luck-c39444, hard work, and the desire to get the most out of nothing helped me to achieve my respective goals. But without the natural instincts, it would have been difficult.”
“Life changes and you have to understand yourself, what will be my priorities after the completion of his playing career. Nowadays, I am look at the coach's work through the eyes of a football player. Maybe I'll try myself to fit
in that capacity. I understand that this is interesting to me and is suitable in all respects,” The former CSKA Moscow man was quoted as saying.
Semak began his professional career in 1992 and the midfield maestro holds the record for most number of matches in the top flight Russian championship.
When the Russian International walked through the doors of Petrovsky stadium after joining them from Rubin Kazan almost four years ago, Semak said that his time at the St. Petersburg club would be measured by the number of trophies
during his stay.
And there is little arguing to the statement that he widely contributed in helping the Russian outfit to win several, adding two league titles and a Russian cup to his hall of fame. He may well finish his career at Zenit with three
league titles as the race for the league title is heating up.
As things stand, Zenit are at the second-spot on the league table with 50 points and trail the league leaders, CSKA Moscow, by only six points with six games remaining until the end of the ongoing campaign.
Highlighting his favourite team in the domestic championship, Semak was little hesitant to single out Lokomotiv Moscow.
