  1. Semana criolla in Uruguay is  always in Easter. It is the name some  non religious people gives to that week.

That wekk has also another names for  different kind of pple.

it's called also Semana de Turismo., and for Christians it is called Semana Santa.

About Semana Criolla, in Uruguay nobody knows it as creole week for the simple reason that  the language is spanish not english.

Pple from countryside, arrive to the capital city Montevideo, bcoz in 2 big places in the capital that great celebration takes place.

    1...the Rural del Prado

    2...the Parque Roosvelt

In both places workers from "estancias" (ranchs),  excellent horsemen, give wonderful shows about the art of daming the horses.

It's a kind of american rodeo, but with the nice and proper uruguayan style.

Horsemen from Argentine, Brazil, and even Paraguay, like to contend in that competition, because it is well known along all South America.

Is a very popular festival that can be enjoyed for the whole family.

Take a watch of this site...it is from someone non uruguayan, and even it has a Youtube video.
