Semi – final draw for the Jem Racing Paws at Poole
Four heats were staged on the 15th of November, 2011, in order to finalise the reservation of traps for the semi –final round.
Trainer J Grant’s b***h Swift Emma, proved herself as a real go getter, after producing the fastest final time in the battle of dogs and b*****s. With the conclusion of the heats the traps have been confirmed for the Jem Racing Paws Semi – Finals.
Two shows will be scheduled to decide the traps for the Final lure chase, covering the trip of 450 meters. The top three qualifiers from each show will precede their pursuit for the prestigious title.
Trainer J Mullins’s blue dog Crusing Gino was successful in setting the mark in 26.76 second in the first round.
The three-year-old with 11-4 odds cracked out impressively from trap 1 wearing red and white jacket and succeeded in taking lead over the entire lot during the initial stage.
Crusing Gino’s out class victory assisted him in securing trap 1 for the next quest with the odds of 7-2.
In the neighbouring trap with 33-1 odds, trainer P Simmonds’s blue dog Offshore Rebel has been placed, who being 3 ¾ lengths off the leader, Droopys College lost the purse. He has reserved the blue and white jacket by finishing second in the heats.
After attaining victory, trainer J Burridge’s Droopys College is ready to break from trap 6 with 8-1 odds. While trap 5 will open its gate for trainer J Harvey’s Skelligs Yahoo, who will strike through his box with 12-1 odds.
River Dubh, a black dog accomplished in winning 2 ¼ lengths over Skelligs Yahoo will commence from the same trap, trap 4 as he did in the heats. Crossed over at second place C Stringer’s dog will chase the lure with 7-1.
The last contender among the lot of hounds who has been placed in trap 3 is trainer F Gray’s 9-1 Killacolla Eagle.
Trainer C Allsopp’s black dog Brittons Empire, after earning an easy win in the heats is ready to break through trap 1 in the 2nd semi-final round. The hound will chase the lure with 6-4 odds.
Starting the battle with quite an impressive pace, Clonkelly Point managed to finish second by 2 ½ lengths and secured the same trap, trap 2 for his semi-final combat with 50-1 odds.
P Simmonds Sundance Jet will be in Clonkelly Point’s neighbour, wearing white and black jacket. By 3 ¾ lengths the black dog finished off third previously, but luckily trap 3 has been reserved for him to finish off well with 50-1 odds.
Swift Emma produced amazing speed, hence a quick finish in the heats for trainer J Grant. The b***h will again try her luck to fortify her possession for the purse as well as the title from trap 5 with 7-1.
The black and white jacket will be worn by 16-1 Mallogs Amy, who for trainer S Gresham was able to wrap up her chase in the third place.
The last hound qualified for the second round is trainer B Black’s Coolykereen Hi. The hound was over thrown by Swift Emma and crossed over in second place. The Dog will break from trap 6  with 7-1 odds.
The draws for the semi-finals has been confirmed the battle will decide that who will qualify for the final pursuit.
