Yuri Semin believes that Anzhi, CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg will fight for Russian Premier League title this season and has backed Andriy Shevchenko to lead Ukraine
Former Dynamo Kyiv boss, Yuri Semin, has expressed a desire to continue his coaching career in the Russian Premier League and highlighted Lokomotiv Moscow as his preferred destination.
There is little arguing to the statement that the Railroaders are struggling to pick up points on the league table despite signing a host of foreign players along with a European experienced manager.
As things stand, they are at the 8th spot on the league table with just 22 points and trail the top-spot by 14 points.
The Moscow-based club, meanwhile, are yet to record a league win from their last 7 games including their Russian Cup elimination at Terek Grozny’s hand. Their last league win came in mid-September when they defeated the Chechens
3-0 on the away turf.
Semin lamented the situation at the Moscow-based club, saying that the Russian outfit is struggling to climb up the league table after making some terrible signing during the transfer window.
“Maybe at some point in your career you need to relax a little, because the coaching work is demands high voltage and makes you tired. The problem behind Lokomotiv’s slow start to the season, in my opinion, is big enough. Perhaps
I should consider returning to Moscow.” The UEFA Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Semin went on to admit that Anzhi Makhachkala, Zenit St. Petersburg and CSKA Moscow will fight for the league title this season, insisting that the aforementioned sides will have tough competition between them for the silverware.
“I was surprised to see CSKA at the top-spot because just like many other senior football analysts, I thought that they might not come this far. I think they will be up there for the league title along with Zenit and Anzhi respectively.”
He concluded.
News in Russian media suggested that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Shevchenko-c6014 may lead the Ukrainian national football team in the near future. Semin backed the legendary Ukrainian striker to return to action as a manager this time around.
