On loan at AS Monaco for a season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 after six months. This is a setback for the youngster who is pushing hard to make it to the top level for Marseille
Heralded as one of the great hopes of Olympique de Marseille, Togolese defender Senah Mango is yet to realise his full potential for Les Phoceens.
At the age of 20 and despite his contract to expire by 2014, the young defender has not experienced a lot of joys that come with playing for the Rhone giants. This finding is certainly difficult to digest. Last summer, Mango thought that he had finally found
an opportunity to kick start his career when he was sent on loan to Ligue 2 side AS Monaco.
Unfortunately, the youngster was at Monaco for many weeks without even playing a single game. In January, the youngster was sent back to his parent club.
Faced with too many difficulties and disappointments at Monaco, Mango’s agent has come to the player’s defence and spoke about the reasons why the player failed to establish himself in the side.
“He came under Banide who wanted to build a side with young and old players. But it did not last (Banide was fired). After that, they gave their preference to the youth that won the Gambardella.”
The agent then said that after recruiting nine players in the winter transfer window, Senah was always going to struggle to get a lot of game time. A player who could not play in the first half of the campaign would have surely struggled after such heavy
recruitment by the residents of Stade Louis II.
However, his agent says that the player has a lot of talent and quality and will comeback stronger.
The agent also says that Mango will play in the CFA 2 in the future and it’s up to him to prove that he can play in Ligue 2.
Olympique de Marseille will have two choices: either to keep the youngster in the squad or to send him on a loan spell again for the next campaign.
