Senator McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone.?

The U.S.Constitution prohibits people who are not natural born citizens to run for the office of U.S. Presidency. I respectfully ask, what is the legal ground that permits Senator McCain to run for this office, yet for example, Arnold Schwarzneggar would need a Constitutional Amendment to do the same thing? I am not against the McCain Presidency.

"Children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States".

Citizen Schwarzenegger is blocked by Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution. It reads, "No person except a natural born citizen ... shall be eligible to the office of president." The 12th Amendment says the vice president cannot be foreign-born.

McCain's Father, an admiral in the US Navy, was stationed on a US base in US Territorty ( The Canal Zone.) which is, according to the US Supreme Court, tantamount to being in the US. McCain is considered a natural American.

at the time the panama canal was us territory and if you are born in us territory even a us army base is consider us territory you are a natural born citizen. also, if you both your parents are american born you are also automatically a natural born citizen per us law.

McCain was born a US citizen on a US military base. He was not naturalized, he was born a citizen. Arnold was born an Austrian citizen.

The 14th amendment to the Constitution says that a person may be a native citizen due to 2 factors.

   1. jus sanquinis-- who your parents are. If Mom and Dad are

       native born citizens then so are their children. This is

      what covers people who may be overseas due to work or

      who are in the military for example. If McCain has lived in

      the USA for over 7 years, which he has, then he is a

       native born citizen.

                                                       or

   2. jus soli-- where you are born. If you are born in the 50

       states, Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, the

       Canal Zone, before we gave it back , or aboard a USA

       public Vessal, plane, ship, or bus. You are an American

      Citizen.

      This is the way the US courts have intrepret the law for

       over 140 years. Arnie S was born in Austria of Austrian

      parents so he does not fit either criteria for being native

      born. perhaps it is time to amend the Constitution to allow

      all citizens to become eligible to run for president, after a

      certain time limit, maybe?

Senator McCain's father was stationed in Panama Canal Zone, which was under US jurisdiction, by the US Navy at the time of his birth. His mother was also an American citizen. I do not believe Senator McCain has had to take the oath of citizenship for the USA, so therfore, he has, since birth, been considered a US Citizen.

Since Governor Schwarzeneggar was an Austrian citizen at birth, he does not qualify to be President as the US Constitution is now written and amended.

He was born on a U.S. military base in that zone which constitutes American soil. Also his parents are citizens which makes him a U.S. citizen.
