Senchenko believes he can beat Malignaggi – Boxing News
In his recent media interaction, WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko said that his opponent former IBF junior welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi has ‘nothing special’. Both the pugilists are scheduled to fight each other on April 29 at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk in Ukraine.
While speaking about his plans against Paulie ‘Magic Man’ Malignaggi, the WBA welterweight champion stated, “I want to give American fight fans what they like by being aggressive and attacking Malignaggi. They won’t be disappointed by my style. I hope that, after this fight, American television people will see my boxing skills and offer me big fights. I want to showcase my talents in America, which is known as one of the best places in the world to box. Not boxing there would be a disappointment. I want to have a couple of fights in the US, not just one, but any fight has to be the right fight for me. My promoter, Yuri Raban (Union Boxing), will decide who my next opponent will be and where.”
He added that it is important for any boxer to be on the US television and every boxer has that dream. He then said that even though this fight is happening in the Ukraine, he is very happy that Integrated Sports Media will be broadcasting this fight live so people in the US will be able to watch him fight.
He then said that he knows American fans want him to see in action, being aggressive and attacking towards Malignaggi and he will make sure that it happens. He then assured his fans that they will not be disappointed by his fighting style, adding that he hopes after this fight American channels will offer him bigger matches.
While talking about his opponent, the champion said, “Malignaggi has nothing special and that he knows how to fight him. He said that he will expose Malignaggi’s weakness to the world so that he remembers his name forever.
According to Senchenko, Malignaggi is just another fighter who can be beaten easily with the right strategy in mind. He said that he is not really afraid or pressurised when it comes to fighting Malignaggi.
