Send Error Report vs Don't Send Error Report?

Question

When a program isn't responding and you shut it down then get a pop-up Send/Don't Send, which is better? Who receives it? What do they do with it? And how does it help me?

They use to to compile data that will help determine changes for future software, computers, etc., but it doesn't help you at all!
