Send a text from email to phone....?

Question

I want to see if my new phone could receive my texts, so how would I be able to send a text to my new Verizon phone from my email? Or like, just be able to send one from the computer to my phone....

You'd have to have internet on the phone.

I am not sure how it works in US however you can try some website for sending messages online for free. There are hundreds of websites offering this service or i guess you can connect the phone to your computer and Synchronize your phone with outlook and then see how it looks like. You can also activate GPRS or EDGE and browse your online account and check emails or you can also use wireless functionality ( if available ) and connect to internet and check emails. send a text from you phone to your e-mail. Now you have your phones e-mail address, just send a text to the phone!!!!!!
