  2. Where are you from? Filipinos working abroad have shipping businesses that offers door-to-door delivery. You can probably ask within your community so you can have an idea. Some could give you good prices and discounts.

Anyhow, you can try checking this site out. So far that is the safest I have used for sending packages local or for abroad.

    Hope this helps.

  3. ...the secret of packing a balikbayan box is in making sure the contents are neatly compact inside. use wearables to soften contact between hard items like canned goods. if sending liquids (e.g, shampoos), tape the bottle cap securely to prevent leakage. maximize the inside space but do not cram the items as this would make the box bulge and burst.  if you cannot close the box with ease, then you have to remove some items or redo the packing again.

to tie the box - use heavy duty masking tape.  tape around the box at all pressure points - 3 to 4x around horizontally and vertically.

don't worry, a good forwarding company re-tapes boxes when they think it's not as secure yet.

  4. Another tip: If your packing liquids in the same box as clothes, etc you may want to place liquid bottles inside a seal able container.
