You need to do some serious research on the space program!  You have no clue the advances in science and medicine that have enhanced ALL of our lives in ways that would shock you!

We must continue to explore space.

No, it is not a waste. Space exploration and the research behind it has led to many, many new and inovative ideas that have benefited Mankind in a multitude of ways. To not seek out what we do not understand would be a travesty to one of the things that make us human, curiosity and the ability to find answers.
