Hi, random questions, but i need to send off some money, and last time it got stolen in the post so this time i need to send it recorded, how much does it cost, and also do you still use normal first class stamps or do they give you different ones for it? How exactly does it work? For sending money of £30 or above what service do you reccomend using?

  1. Better off sending a cheque or postal order, sending cash is dangerous. It costs standard postage plus 72p.

  2. Don't!   Royal Mail do NOT recommend sending money by post even by Recorded Signed For.

Send a cheque. If you don't have a bank account, you can get a Postal Order at the Post Office. This is like a cheque which the receiver can cash at their Post Office.

Sending by Recorded Signed For: you fill in a form at the Post Office (cost is 72p plus the ordinary stamps for the letter).  Receiver has to sign before the postman will give it to them.
