Senegal parrot's eyes?

Question

what does it mean when my parrots eyes get bigger and smaller really quick? i just got him today, but i was at the previous owners house almost every day for 2 weeks so he would get used to me. and how can i get hin to not be so afraid of my chihuahuas?

I have a Meyers Parrot which is a cousin to the Senegal Parrot. When he pin's his eyes like that it means 1. He is excited, 2. He is ready to bite..... Normally you can determine if he's excited or ready to bite! I love when he pin's his eyes, its so cute!!! !

hes just looking at you talk to him ti him him relax he will like ur voice what have u called him ? post a picture i have budgie called coco hes green and yellow with big blue tail hes goregous birds can be great pets as long as u spend a lot of time with them good luck x

That's called "pinning". It means they're aroused by something -- it could also be a warning that they're getting mad and you may be about to get bitten. My three caiques will pin their eyes, and then lower their heads -- then bite the heck out of me.

But I love them anyway.
