The 28-year-old striker is the club’s leading goal-scorer and hoping to add more to his tally when his side meet the Amsterdam giants in their upcoming Eredivisie tie.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 Kerkrade striker, Senharib Malki, has admitted that his side will face a tough challenge in its upcoming Eredivisie clash against Ajax Amsterdam at Amsterdam Arena on Sunday, March 4.
The 28-year-old is in supreme goalscoring form since the start of the ongoing 2011/12 campaign. He has netted an impressive 16 goals in 22 Eredivisie appearances, a remarkable feat considering the fact that he came off the bench in six of these matches.
Malki has insisted that he wants to keep up his impressive form in front of the goal intact for his side’s upcoming away game.
“I am quite busy scoring. The club record is 23 goals and for my own personal record, I still need one more. I need that to beat my record of goals from the 2008 season with Germinal Beerschot and hopefully it will be on Sunday in Amsterdam”, Malki was quoted
as saying to Voetbal International.
The 28-year-old, who arrived at Parkstad Limburg Stadion in the summer of 2011 after making 31 appearances for Lokeren, has asserted he wants to add his name to the score-sheet while playing against the Amsterdam giants.
“It is a difficult game, especially since we have many injuries to contend with. I have not scored against Ajax yet, but I hope to change that on Sunday”, Malki added.
The Syrian International then went on to insist that he performs at his best while playing upfront.
“There were many problems at Lokeren. I played at an unnecessary position, right in midfield, and that’s not my position”, Malki concluded.
The former Germinal Beerschot striker has an ongoing contract at Parkstad Limburg Stadion until the summer of 2012. However, his contract has a clause through which the club management can tie him down for another two seasons.
Following his phenomenal performances thus far this term, it seems likely that the club management will soon be exercising the option to prolong his stay in Kerkrade.
