Senior members know my worth: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539 – Cricket News Update
Suresh Raina, the Indian cricketer, has spoken against the criticism he faced after he performed below power in the Commonwealth Bank series.
The left-handed batsman held that he never takes his place in the Indian team for granted and strives hard to give his cent percent in every game. Raina said that senior members of the Indian team know what he is worth and that
is all that matters to him.
“Critics can say a lot of things but I know that I have tried to perform the role assigned to me with utmost sincerity. People can say whatever they like but the senior members of the Indian team know my worth and that is what
is important for me,” said the 25-year-old cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Uttar-Pradesh-c858.
Cricketing experts had a lot to say about Raina after the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. They questioned his place in the side and his temperament to perform consistently at the International level.
In reply to their claims, Raina beckoned towards the depth of Indian batting and the slot where he usually comes out to bat. The left-hander, who usually bats at five or six, held that when he comes out, there are not many overs
left and the team requires him to play aggressively.
Raina is usually not as effective on bouncy pitches as on sub-continental tracks. The left-hander’s inability to play short deliveries has been exploited by bowlers on fast tracks and it is something Raina is expecting to overcome,
after the conclusion of Indian Premier League's season 5.
The 25-year-old is planning a trip of down under where he will work on his weakness. He said, “After the IPL is over, I will take a month's break and then start training again. In fact, I plan to go to Australia accompanied by
current Chennai Super Kings physio Tom Simsek for an extensive fitness program. If possible, I might play a few club matches in order to get some good match practice on bouncy pitches.”
