Senior project ideas?

i need a good idea for a senior project. basically i need to learn how to do something new....any ideas? it has to be school appropriate and needs to take up the whole school year.

Here are a couple of ideas:

Learn some basic mechanic maneuvers. Every person should know how to change a tire, change the oil in a car, change your brake pads, wash and detail, etc. It takes a while and some practice to learn these things and obviously you could drag it out. And by the end you would know how to take care of yourself and your car better.

Learn how to cook. And not just your basic knowledge cooking but some actual culinary skills. Give yourself a set of recipes to learn and have your family do the judging on your progress. Make sure the recipes range from easy to difficult and cover all the areas (appetizers, soups, sides, entrees, desserts).

Learn how to sew, or better yet to crotchet or quilt. Your finished project could be an entire quilt or blanket. It takes a lot of time and patience to learn how to do those!

you could probably do something like volunteer things.....firefighting, medical work, police work, etc. things like that could take up a while and be interesting at the same time. i'm doing volunteer firefighting and its so fun to do and at the same time i'm doing something helpful...for a grade.

you could learn a new language! after a year you should become fluent enough to have a pretty good project. i would recommend spanish!

if this isn't applicable explain the project a little more and i'll try to think of something better
