Seniors, Do girls today even know what a Half Slip is?

Question

Does anyone else remember when slips were a lingerie staple? I remember having a full and half slip for every color dress or skirt I had. Red, Pink, Blue ,Yellow. Do you remember this? Do you remember when the thought of not wearing a slip was unheard of? In todays world of thong panties and bra straps showing is there any modesty? Do girls today even know what a slip is?

I do remember half slips and back in the day would never consider wearing a dress/skirt without one.

But... times change.  I can't imagine ever wearing one again.  But not wearing a slip doesn't mean we're all going commando under our skirts.  Shapewear like spanx rocks!    If you're wearing a knee length dress/skirt, you can wear the spanx that come to mid-thigh and they are awesome. Comfortable and they smooth you out... and serve the purpose slips did, if you are wearing a thinner skirt the spanx do provide additional coverage.

I'm a teenager and I know what a slip is.  I had one for a while (it may or may not have been given to me from my grandma) before I hit puberty and my hips got huge.  I'm a modest person, I don't even like seeing MYSELF naked.  I don't understand thongs either.  I mean, the way I see it, if ya wanna pay money to have your underwear go up your butt, gimme twenty dollars and I'll give ya a wedgie.

Yes we do. But were never forced to wear one.  Blame our parents.  Lol.

I am only 23, but when i was a girl my mom always made me and my sisters wear slips with all our dresses. She taught us to be modest with showing our bodies. I think baring it all looks sleazy not s**y.

I'm a renegade throwback to another era.  I not only know what a slip is, I wear them under all my dresses and skirts.  I much prefer wearing a slip to putting up with the linings installed into many of today's dresses and skirts.  I usually have the lining removed so I can wear the slip I want to wear without getting too warm.  My dresses hang better when I wear a full slip under them and I like to wear half/petti slips under my skirts.  To me, a slip is/should be a pretty piece of lingerie that I enjoy wearing.  My slips are silky and lacy and I have them in many colors.  Its harder to find high-quality slips these days, but they are still out there.  I've bought many from herroom.com.  I feel pretty and s**y when I put on a gorgeous, lacy slip over my bra and panties!  For some of my longer, fuller skirts I like to wear satin petticoats to fill out the bottom - plus the satin and lace feels great against my legs!  I've had several petticoats (with matching camisoles) made by a seamstress.  Expensive, but lots of fun.
