  1. i would now take the opportunity to buy a dugout in coober peddy (,sth.oz opal town )it's the most fascinating place to live in .

how ever i have no regrets ,as for better or worse ,my life has made me who i am today.

  2. When I finished high school, I went to a business school so I could get a job as a secretary. I had wanted to be a lawyer all through school and didn't follow my dream. I could see myself in a court room sending criminals to prison. Well it has been many years now since that time long ago, my life has turned out alright and I can't complain. Still.    Poppy

  3. Never ever never, never pick up a cigarette.  If I'd known then how VERY addictive they were and how deadly they were ,I wouldn't have. It's too late for me But I pray you younger people will take heed and never do it.  It takes a bigger person to be mature and wise than a stupid person trying to show off for someone.Been there , done that, regret it, can't do a darn thing about it now but wait for the pearly gates.

  4. hi . i think we learn from our mistakes or miss adventures . i had a baby at 15 , WAY back when and it was a very hard thing to do . i wished i had been more mature to raise my child . i did the best i knew how to do , and thank god , she is now a wonderful woman , raising her own children . i wouldn't change a thing .

just don't rush into any hasty choices  . you have a lifetime ahead of you .

    take care . d.

  5. After our daughter was born we decided one child was enough.

We really enjoyed raising our daughter and we both wish we had decided to have another child.

  6. I'd have to say that if I had known what a money pit it would be to buy a computer & get internet service, I NEVER would have bothered with it.  I was happier going to the Library a few times a week.  At least I was exposed to current reading material that didn't cost me anything!  I would read while I waited to use the computer.  Now I don't read books or magazines.  Just what's on the screen in front of me.  I don't think i will renew my service when my contract expires.

  7. I'd have been more forceful in insisting on choosing my own career.  My mother wanted me to be a nurse.  She was a nurse and was sure that once I got into it, I'd love it, just as she did.

I wanted to be a teacher.  Or a secretary.  Mother was sure that I would not be a good teacher, and that I'd hate being a secretary in practically no time.  Her father had forced her into secretarial work, and she had always hated it.

Mother insisted that if she was going to pay for my upper education, then she got to choose which educational courses she would pay for.

Since I wanted to go to college, I said okay.

As it turned out, I hated nursing.  Really hated it.  I worked at it only long enough to pay back the partial scholarship Mom had gotten for me.  And then, I quit.  Worked as a waitress, babysitter, whatever.

So, I think it is very important to follow your own dreams for a career. No one else should force you into what they think you should do with your life.

  8. There's no single decision I regret, but I do wish I had dealt with people in a much kinder way when I was younger.  It's served me well to mellow out a bit and put small things in perspective, and if I could have done that when I was younger, it would have saved me a lot of headaches.

  9. I would have been more serious about finding a suitable mate, I dated several men but never took anything seriously, I was not in a hurry to marry, and just played all through my 20's and 30's, then I realized I was nearing 40 with no serious relationship in sight, shucks, I had dreamed of being a mother all my life and I screwed up.

  10. I married 2 weeks out of High School the first time.  One thinks marriage is forever and also I thought I knew everything.  I wish I would have stayed at home with my parents, they were very old already, and lived with them and furthered my education.

They say that changing things could alter the events in your life.  I do ot want to do that.  If I still had to live the misery that would be ok if it kept me where I am today.  We learn from all of our mistakes.  Sometimes a very very hard, and costly lesson

  11. I am glad I left my 1st husband, for he was mentally abusive to myself

and the children, but:::I should have gotten to know #2 better or opened my eyes wider, for he was a alcholic,  I loved him so I think I purposely ignored the signs.  It broke my heart but I couldn't live w/that, expose the kids.  So much  heartache, but I did what I knew I

had to, he died a few yrs later.  I never fully recovered from losing him.

I have found out, this happens more than you would believe!!!  Take time, do not be swept away in any situation.

  12. I  wouldn't have  gotten married.  I knowingly married someone I wasn't in love with.  That was unfair to both of us, not to mention stupid.  It had such a negative effect on me that I have been single for 22 years now.

  13. Stay in college the first time and finish my degree before getting married and having a family.

  14. It would be the one where I didn't listen to those warnings in my head and listened to my heart instead. When I put marriage first and furthering my education second.

Needless to say, the marriage didn't last and I didn't make it back to school.

Never take things for granted and think "that would never happen to me". It's life...and it does.

Glad that you're asking questions and looking for the right direction ahead of time. I'd say you're already on the right path!

  15. 1. I would not move out of my parents house when I was young.

    2. I would graduate from college before I got married.

    3. I would have started weightlifting at age 18, not age 36.
