Sensitive white spots on teeth

okay..i have lots of little white spots on my teeth as soon as my braces came off..i've tried whitening strips (crest) & they hurt my teeth really bad..is there any other products to whiten my teeth that wont hurt

  1. It sounds like you have decalcification.  These are considered weaker spots on the enamel and can be caused by not being able to brush your teeth well during ortho treatment.  Your dentist can give you MI Paste, a product with calcium and fluoride that will help remineralize these spots, thus making them stronger.  Also, try a sensitive toothpaste (with potassium nitrate) and/or ACT mouthrinse.  Be sure to have your teeth cleaned well by a hygienist!  Work on reducing the sensitivity and try the white strips again in about a month.


  2. Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken. I found the information at http://www.aches.in/toothwhitening.html


  3. well, this sorta happened to me, but i asked my dentist and she said that the orthadontist did not do a good enough job of cleaning off my teeth from the braces and the glue that keeps them on.  She cleaned them off and i was fine
