Sensory Processing Disorder?

I was recently diagnosed with sensory processing disorder (SPD) or sensory integration dysfunction (SID) I was wondering if anybody here has heard of this disorder because I am trying to raise awareness of this commonly misunderstood disorder.

Hey there my daughter has this disorder and there are some great books out there. They are geared toward parents for their child BUT they have some great info. The Out of Sync Child and the Sensory Sensitive child.

Also you can find some other great books here as well. It's a very hard disorder for other people to understand because it seems like a behavioral issue when in fact it is not. There are coping skills out there to help you deal with this.
