Sent an Instant message, but want to now retract it?

The person I sent it to is offline and was offline when I sent it. How can I retract the message so the person wont receive it when they go online

First of all, you gotta sneak into their house. Turn on the computer. Erase everything on it. Then destroy it! besides that, you're screwed

sorry, but on the AIM 6.0 (the new one) i dont think u can retract something that u say if you are using "offline messaging"

You can't its sent. Sorry you'll have to come up with some lame excuse as to why it was sent in the first place and hope they believe you

Just cause it says they are off line doesnt mean they are offline, they may be invisible... The message is sent there is nothing you can do about that, however your idea is kinda ok - except dont change the date, just keep sending lots of messages...  the person will get bored and delete the whole works....

YOU CANT.YOU COULD SEND A TON OF OTHER MESSAGES AND HOPE THEY ONLY READ THE NEW ONES.

OR YOU COULD SAY YOU ARE SORRY AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU SENT THEM WHAT YOU DID.

sign on their SN so that u get it, then sign off. otherwise you can't.
