Atletico’s Argentine boss, Diego Simeone, admitted on Argentine radio station that he would never coach city rivals, Real Madrid, and that Atletico Madrid live in his heart.
The Argentine is a man who is very much familiar with the emotions and sensitivities that are involved in cross-city rivals, especially the one between Atletico and Real Madrid, and that is why he feels that he should never coach Atletico’s neighbours.
“I would never coach Real Madrid because I’m sentimental about the old things. Atletico lives in my heart,” said Simeone.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Simeone has turned the fortunes of Atletico around since his arrival at the club.
Last season he won the UEFA Europa League and European Super Cup with the club and this year Atletico have so far had a flying start to the season in La Liga as they are level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 at the top of the table after winning six out of seven
league games.
He was asked about his future prospects at the club but declined to comment on his future in the club he once used to play for.
“My contract expires at the end of this season and if you know me then you know I go on feelings. Now I feel good and I hope we can continue game by game, achieving what I’ve always wanted for Atletico,” he stressed.
When questioned about how he sees his team’s performance so far and the impressive start they have made to the season, Simeone was quick to give all the credit to his players.
“The credit goes to the players and we have taken advantage of the different characteristics they possess. We have a strong squad, which is shown by the way in which we have scored goals.”
Finally, Simeone didn’t forget to shower words of praise on his striker, Falcao.
Atletico Madrid’s Colombian hitman is in sensational form this season and he is now the leading goal-scorer in the Spanish League with eight goals.
“Radamel excites you. Nothing with him is accidental. He looks for things, he wants things and he trains to be the best,” Simeone explained in an exciting way.
The Argentine coach is obviously having a great time at Atletico Madrid as his team is performing incredibly in all competitions so far.
Atletico Madrid will travel to Anoeta on October 21st for their next La Liga match.
