  1. I've lived in Seoul for quite a number of years, and I attended Seoul Foreign School and Seoul International school during that period. I've been close with many people who attended Seoul American High School, so I know a lot about that school as well.

SAHS (Seoul American) is probably the most Americanized. Many kids who attend that school have parents who work for the American army or the government but are just deployed in Korea.

SFS (Seoul Foreign) comes next. If you want a place that's highly academically motivated, this is the school for you. This school is pretty Americanized, but admittedly not as much as SAHS. There are lots of Korean Americans but most of them seem completely American. Classes are in English and most teachers are from the US (there is also a British School that's grades K~8, I believe, but it's separate from SFS - it's just on the same campus), so it's basically like an American school. The only reason why it's called Seoul "Foreign" School is because they accept students of all nationalities except Korean, but all students have to speak English fluently. I attended this school the longest, and I loved this school the most. I have to say that I might be a bit partial to this school. This school is pretty small - there are about 90 students per grade, so it can have a lot of cliques.

Finally, Seoul International School. I hated this school. A lot of students are full Koreans who speak English as their second language, and I have to say Koreans probably outnumber Americans. It's often known for having a lot of rich kids attending, but this school is very academic and sends a lot of kids to very good colleges each year.

None of these schools have uniforms. All three schools are basically American schools in Korea. Most students who attend these schools don't mingle with kids who go to Korean schools because of the language barrier, obviously, and the social life is very different. I hope this helped and good luck finding a school that's a good match for you.

  2. if you are, then go to sahs, a big school, it's nice there.

soo lucky, too! i go to osan high school, and it SUCKS. argh,

sfs is not a uniform school, but, you have to pay

and you can't just get in. that's a school for the 'intelligent' students

you have to apply & get accepted & what not.

sfs is one of the BEST schools here, next to tcis

most of the people are koreans, or foreigners,

when they come to play at my school i see some indians and stuff

and sfs also has a british school to it, too

so, i would definantly prefer sahs!

but, you know, it's korea, haha

all the onbase schools are mostly amerasians,

but sahs has the most diversity

such as blacks, mexicans, mix people, etc.

  3. I would go to Seoul American High School.

  4. Moving to Korea wow!

Seoul American high school if you want Americans then go to the American high school.

I never knew there was such a American high school in Korea

    Good luck!

  5. OMGGG,,I WISH I CAN GO TO KOREA...DUDE,WE NEED TO BE A FRIEND,,I DON;T SPEAK ANY KOREANS BUT I DO SPEAK ENGLISH,I PLANNING TO BE AN EXCHANGE STUDENT THERE ACTUALLY..lol

but i think foreign would be better for you...and i think in korea you need to wear uniform no matter what..

why you move to korea tho?

  6. Seoul American High School's priority is for students whose parents/guardians are in or work for the American military. Private US and foreign citizens may attend the school on a space available, tuition paying basis. The school is located on the Yongsan Garrison.
