Separate yourself to find yourself.....

Does it make sense to want to separate yourself from the people around you temporarily in order to find yourself without interruptions? I feel that I need to do this, but thee people around me won't understand/ will feel offended. Does anyone else ever feel like they need to do this?

  1. Amen preach it.

This is most important to do. See when you surround yourself with others you tend to forget were you stand or who you are.

When you separate yourself you have no one else but you to fall back on.

  2. Its hard to do that in most environments.  Do your best to stay solid even around others.  In your objective experience, you interact with others.  In your subjective experience, you interact from within.  Practice self-mastery without being in a cocoon. Do what you do.

Oh, i see what you mean.  Yeah, I even have to do this with certain people that I consider friends.  If I stick with a group or anything for too long then I never have time to think for myself.  I see my social connections becoming smaller and more integrated, yet stronger.

  3. my little brother commiited suicide a week before my 18th bday...everyone was there for my parents and always askin how they were doing ect...i got sick of ppl and life so i just naturally didnt want to be around ppl. i got deep into depression and even drugs which seperated me even more from reality. i think its ok to seperate yourself to a point...but dont get so lost in yourself you cant find your way back out like i almost did. good luck
