  1. Yes because they are quite the breeders and while she is pregnant right after she has her babies eh can get pregnant again...that's a good idea to seperate them!

  2. You should separate them from the mother and the boys from the girls around 4 weeks of age. The baby girls can become fertile as early as 4 or 5 weeks, and the mother can become pregnant again by her sons even after just giving birth to them.

  3. That would probably be the best idea.  Even though we, as people, know better, guinea pigs don't and will sometimes mate with their siblings.  Too much inbreeding will cause mutations among the babies and they will get weaker and weaker in some cases.

  4. that would probably be a good idea =]

  5. They will start eating regular food within days (sometimes hours) of birth, so that is not a good indicator for separation. While little boars can impregnate their mothers at a shockingly early age, they CANNOT do so right after birth. Any adult boar in the cage will, however because she will come into the strongest heat of her life during that time. The boar and sow should be separated as soon as pregnancy is suspected.  Baby boys and girls should be separated at three weeks of age. Girls can stay with mom, but baby boys need their own cage at this time.

  6. yes you do 'cause i think they a bit cannibals

  7. The males need to be separated from the females by 3 weeks of age.
