Separation lab HELP please!!!!!?

- You've been provided w/ a ball composed of iron, salt, wood and clay.

HOW WOULD you seperate these??

*my teacher isnt going to answer any questions for us ( i have no idea why!!!)

  1. Hmm, first step i would put the ball in water assuming the salt was soluble. Clays are silicate materials so i would leach the ball in an acid solution.  this would leave the wood and iron.  next step, i would dry the ball, the torch the heck out of it (combustion) leaving the iron behind.

    Well ummm wood floats....How do you get a ball composed of all that stuff???

    iron sinks the fastest....clay is soft

    salt is salty lol.

    l**k it, throw it in water, scrape it, use a magnet.
