Separation of Church & State?

ACLU & other liberal groups demand no religious expressions what so ever on government buildings or holdings, etc.

Does that mean they take down any cross insignia or religious symbols in Arlington National Cemetary,(Govt. owned land), also the walls of the Supreme Court etc.

  1. ACLU=Anti Christian Liars Union

  2. No matter how seperate you wanna believe the church is from state, its really not. Thia country and its politics were founded under God. People over the years have been led to believe that there is a strictness of church and state seperation. But it was simply for the church to avoid paying taxes. I mean the church used to make political decisions many years ago!

  3. You are misrepresenting the ACLU.  The government should not noticeably support one religion over another.  That is why many local governments display both christian, jewish, and other denominations symbols during holidays (a practice the Supreme Court has supported).

  4. NO!

  5. there is no such term in our constitution the 1st amendment says

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

so constitutionally you cant make a law forcing the removal of any religious article from public places

  6. The seperation of church and state is a myth which is being perpetrated by those who would have us to abandon the United States of America which has been such a wonderful country for the last 200 years.

There is NO such thing mentioned in the constitution.  The first amendment is posted here for your convenience. Please notice that there IS a prohibition on the possiblity of congress' preventing exercise of religion.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

  7. Yes-  The liberals have no problem destroying our basic foundation of this CHRISTAN COUNTRY.. Just look how acceptable it is to watch someone eat a hamburger on TV but it has a sexual innuendo attached to it...The AMP energy drink chimerical drink an AMP and you won't care who you wake up next to in the morning...disgusting what we feed our kids.

  8. I believe in strong separation of church and state, it is the principle of the first amendment.

  9. They'd love to.  And eventually we'll have a group of SC justices moronic enough to make that the law.

  10. They should!  But some people would like government to establish an official religion, in spite of the Constitutional amendment which forbids it.  I guess Conserva-sheep want everyone to have the same interests, activities, and traditions.

That's not to say there should be no reference to god, as in "in god we trust".  If you read the Declaration of Independence, you'll find the founding fathers made reference to "Nature's God" -- NOT the Xtian god, NOT the Jewish god -- NOT a god of ANY PARTICULAR RELIGION.
