Sepp Blatter finally compelled to open Goal line technology issue
The recent FIFA World Cup which was held in South Africa was announced as one of the worst football events ever held in the history of football. The World Cup has brought some serious controversies and absurd issues about the management and rules of football applied by the FIFA association.
Poor decisions made by the referees in the World Cup matches made the biggest football event even worse. The crowd was disappointed and frustrated because the decisions by the referees turned the matches upside down in no time. Recently the president of FIFA association Sepp Blatter expressed his views about the incidents and issues and said that the association will try its level best to make the game of football free of doubts. The biggest issue which dragged the eyes and ears of the world towards the football was the issue of goal line technology. In the match between England and Germany the lack of technology fuelled the fire of frustration and disappointment amongst football fans and nations, when a clear goal from Frank Lampard was not allowed by the referee.
While talking about goal line technology, FIFA President Blatter expressed his views and said that technology is always important and a person cannot ignore the use of it. Blatter who was once against the idea of introducing the goal line technology now seems to be accepting the fact that this technology can cause a very good change and can defend the harmed reputation of FIFA.
While talking about the current system Blatter told the media that it was his thought that FIFA had a very perfect system but now he is feeling that they should improve the current applied system to make the game error free. Blatter has always opposed the idea of introducing video technology in football unlike other famous sporting games. According to him technology will make the game artificial and it can disrupt the flow of the game. Blatter while talking to the youth Olympics being held in Singapore expressed his views that all of his intentions are to make the game of football transparent and to promote the game honestly.
While talking about friendly matches being held across the globe he said it is not an issue to drag FIFA as FIFA is not the only association which is responsible of organizing football in the world. He told the media that friendly matches are being played in different locations of the world and the Premier League is about to start so it is a tough challenge for the association to schedule matches according to the desires of the clubs or nations. It is to be remembered that Harry Redknapp, supervisor of Tottenham has criticised FIFA over the timings of the match between Hungary and England which will be played at Wembley.
Answering the critics about the scheduling of friendly matches, Blatter said that it is very hard to schedule perfectly according to the desires of football playing nations and clubs. Later he added that FIFA association announces the calendar for football matches to be played and it has everything which a person should need to get informed. If someone has a problem with the timing of the matches it is something FIFA cannot help them with.
With some burning issues raised by the fans and football nations, FIFA has to think deep and make effective changes in the system to promote the world’s most favourite game. With the use of technology in football the new structure will not only help the referees to make decisions confidently but it will also make the game error free.
