The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper has showered praise on the current Reds manager following recent claims of the manager’s exit.
Legendary Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Sepp Maier, believes that Jupp Heynckes is the perfect man to manage such a high-profile club. He was talking in the wake of claims that the manager would leave the club at the end of the season.
The German media recently criticised the Bayern boss following the club’s inconsistent run since returning from the break. The reports also suggested that Heynckes will be relieved off his duties anytime soon if the results do
not start coming.
The reports emerged when Bayern slipped away to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079 in their first-leg of the knock-out tie in the UEFA Champions League. Heynckes kept his calm and proved his worth by leading the Munich giants to smashing 7-0 win over the
same opponents in the second-leg.
As a result, Bayern qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition 7-1 on aggregate and await their opponents in the next round. Heynckes also inspired his troops to a 7-1 drubbing of Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga just three
days before the second-leg clash.
The former Reds’ shot stopper is convinced that Heynckes is the best choice and Bayern must consider extending his stay at the Allianz Arena. He applauded his efforts until now and predicts that the former Bayer Leverkusen boss
will lead the club to silverware this season.
While talking to a sports website, Goal.com, Maier further added: "It's madness that people are discussing firing him. He's doing a good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and is a nice guy, something you can't say of all the previous Bayern coaches. He has
a good relationship with the team as well."
Heynckes is currently into his third spell at the club and has previously led Bayern twice to the Bundesliga and DFL-Supercup crowns. The 66-year-old could still propel the Reds to completing a treble this season by winning the
Bundesliga, Champions League and the German Cup.
Bayern are currently five points behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga with nine games still to be played in the competition.
