Question:

Septum Piercing Information. EASY TEN POINTS!

I want to get my septum pierced. Ive had my nose & bellybutton done. The pain was completely fine for both of those. My nostril had to come out, because I grew a Pilogenic Granulmoa, a couple months after it healed. And then my bellybutton got rippped & just was a disaster.

Im just wondering how much it hurts to have it done.

How long it took to heal & was it an awful healing process.

Also, if I took it out, would the skin heal over & not leave a bunch of lumpy scars

  1. After feeling the pain of the bellybutton, I doubt you would mind a little pinch in your Septum.

  2. It's one of those piercings that you need to find yourself a very good piercer for; the world's still full of hacks who'll call themselves experienced and knowledgable but go right through the cartilage instead of finding the 'sweet spot' (a tiny area just below the cartilage where the mucus membrame is very thin) so find review for places in your area over at http://bodyartforms.com/community.asp and search your location on http://www.bmezine.com/ and read about other peoples experiences. It might also be a good idea to see if anyone's got any reccomendations over at http://community.livejournal.com/bodymod...

As with all nasal piercings the clamps sting and make your eyes water like crazy but the piercing itself was an absolute dream, it feels more wierd than painful

The healing was one of the easiest I've ever had; piercings heal from the outside in so, as it's such a thin, naturally clean area most peoples feel perfectly fine after a month

All piercings will leave a certain amount of lumpy tissue but it can easily be broken down with tea tree oil and vitamin E oil massages

Quite frankly, it's the most hidable piercing in the world; even if you do have scar tissue no one's going to see it

    Happy piercing :)

  3. As far as the scar goes, where they pierce your septum you would never be able to see a scar it there was one. It hurts more than a regular nose piercing, but not horrible. It should take about 2 weeks to heal to where it isn't sore anymore, and another 6 weeks to be considered completely healed. The healing process isn't bad, but it does take some getting used to, if you have to blow your nose or something like that.
