Serbia and Argentina win: FIBA U-19 World Championship Roundup July 8, 2011(Part 3)
Game-5: Serbia 93 – Australia 74
Power forward Luka Mitrovic led Serbia as they routed Australia 93-74 in FIBA U-19 World Championship game on Friday.
Serbia stole the show with their exceptional shooting including 55.7 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range and 74.1 percent from the free throw line.  
Mitrovic was the top contributor for Serbia. He scored 17 points in just 18 minutes and complemented that with four rebounds and two assists. Luka was six of eight from the field. Djordje Drenovac also made 17 points for the Serbs.
Australians had to face the music straight away, as Serbia made some early possessions to take a 22-12 lead after 10 minutes. The Australian squad put up a better effort in the second quarter and managed to cut the deficit down.
By the time first half finished, Australia was trailing the Serbs by just four points at 38-42.  
The Aussies were however rattled by some upbeat offensive charge by the Serbians right after the break. The Serbs simply blew the Australian defence in the third quarter and outscored them 27-10 to tilt the game completely in their
favour.
Serbia led Australia 69-48 going into the final quarter. Australians played hard in the ensuing period, but it all went in vain. Australia scored 26 points during the period, but failed to maintain a check on their opponents, as
Serbia cruised a 19 point win. For the Aussies, shooting guard Hugh Greenwood topped with a game-high 25 points.
Game-6: Argentina 81 – Croatia 76
Argentina used a dominant first half to defeat Croatia 81-76 on Friday night at the FIBA U-19 World Championship.
Patricio Garino led the Argentineans on the night. He scored 21 points, clutched eight rebounds and made two steals in nearly26 minutes of action. Garino’s contribution included five shots from the three-point range. Centre Marcos
Delia tallied 16 points, grabbed four rebounds and catered three assists for Serbia.
Argentina were solid at the start and outscored Croatia 21-11 in the first quarter. After being run over by Argentina in the first period, the Croatians got themselves together and tallied 21 points during the second quarter. However,
the South Americans were unstoppable on the offense and they raced to a 46-32 lead at the break.
The Croatians however, finally managed to choke the Argentineans on the front court in the third frame. They reduced Argentina to only 13 points in the third and made it a five point game (59-54), heading into the ultimate passage.
There was nothing to separate between the two teams in the final quarter as Argentina held on to their lead and the clinched the game.
Centre Dario Saric pounded a game-high 24 points and grasped nine rebounds to lead Croatia, who also got 22 points from Boris Barac.
