Serbia to host 2011 CEV Youth European Championship qualifiers
Serbia will be the prestigious host of the girls’ qualifiers of 2011 CEV Youth European Championship to be held in January 2011.
This is the first time in history that Serbia is hosting the Volleyball qualifiers, which will be begin from 5 January 2011. The city of Kladovo, Beograd has been set up to accommodate the girls’ teams from Australia, Croatia, Portugal and Greece.
Hosts Serbia will also be on board to display their skills against the guest teams. Serbian girls won the European Volleyball League in 2009 and 2010 by beating Turkey on both occasions.
They enjoy a great form and look ready to rumble at the home series. The Serbian team is equipped with all necessary tools and tricks of game and it has plenty of experienced players in the squad. The support of fans and local courts will provide them a
competitive edge in the game.
Serbian team is being considered as hot favourites of the tournament due to their past record. Currently, the team is undergoing tough preparations and training sessions in order to fine-tune their skills in the game.
The qualifiers in Serbia will serve as the preliminary round robin stage, which will further promote the successful teams in the next phase of 2011 CEV Youth European Championship. The top two teams of the qualification tournament in Serbia will earn slots
in the final round which will be played in Ankara, Turkey in May 2011.
The Serbian girls’ team is headed by Marijana Mirosavljevic. He has successfully led the team so far and is determined to prepare them for another spectacular performance at the qualification tournament.
Mirosavljevic said: “Our primary goal is to qualify to the final round of the 2011 CEV Youth European Championships. In order to accomplish this goal, we need to stay focused and make it to the best two there in Kladovo. Actually I don’t see any reason for
our campaign to fail. However, we are in the process of building a new team and we still have to define our system of play and we need to create the right atmosphere among our players.”
Serbian team has a good record in the qualifiers as they have won it four times already.
