Serena Williams aims to play tennis for foreseeable future – Tennis News
Former world number one, Serena Williams, has cleared the air by stating that she has no plans of quitting professional tennis anytime soon. She is here for a long period of time and will definitely try to extend her tenure.
She stated, "I have no intention of stopping, and I don't think she does either," the 13-times grand-slam winner who, with her older sister has been one of the biggest characters in women's tennis for a decade and a half. I enjoy
being out there on the court so much and I've been having so much fun, so it's been great."
She is truly a legend in every aspect. A 13-time Grand Slam Champion who has achieved everything in her professional career is eyeing a whole lot of glory, especially the upcoming London Olympics. She hear a bit gloomy at the press
conference before the start of Wimbledon, the place where she starts the year’s third Grand Slam Championship on Monday.
Adding on to her aims, she added, “I think losing makes me even more motivated. Every experience to me is a learning experience. If you don't learn from it then it will keep happening, so. That would be great if we had an opportunity
to play doubles again.”
Tough challenges are coming soon and Williams is all set to make a mark at the professional level after a major injury layoff. She missed the bulk of 2011 due to undisclosed medical issues but made a remarkable start to the season
at the Australian Open. She has already won two titles in Charleston and Madrid. So, the vision is there but playing tennis after 30 years requires a lot more than just aims.
Despite her fruitful aims about the future, she needs to take a look back at her performance in the recent past. She lost in the opening round of the French Open; broke into tears while leaving the orange clay courts of Paris.
If she wants to stay tough and contest in the battlefield for longer period of time, she will have to increase her patience level and accept defeats with a smile on her face. No players can last her legacy forever. A time comes when they have to surrender
it to someone else and it’s high time for the American number one to consider her decision. She has decided to proceed and now the real test of her nerves will start.
