Serena Williams keeps her options open for a mixed doubles partner at Olympics – Tennis News
Former world number one, Serena Williams, is in the limelight of breaking news once again with her outstanding performance at the Fed Cup tie against the handicapped Belarusian squad. She also revealed her complexity on deciding
the mixed doubles partner for London Olympics.
Earlier she proclaimed that former world number one, Andy Roddick, would be her partner in the Olympics mixed doubles contest but now she has decided to keep her options open and did not pinpoint anyone. Williams Sisters
are famous for their off-court dramas and this might be a new episode of another serial that will help her stay in the news.
Apart from Roddick, she has also highlighted few other names that are going to be one of her top priorities and the list includes the likes of reigning double world number ones, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, and also the prolific
American tennis ace, John Isner.
She was in a jolly mood, talking about her recent success at the Fed Cup and whilst being questioned on her mixed doubles partner, she bluntly stated, “A girl loves to have choices. Obviously the Bryans are like the world's
best doubles players. Andy [Roddick] and I are super, super close.”
Stating her personal love for the American professional tennis ace, she stated, “Personally I love John [Isner]. You're not going to break the guy. It's an automatic I-don't-know-how-many game. I think it's so hard to choose.”
It looks like Serena is reverting back to her young times and thinking like a girl in her early 20’s. She is feeling young and also liking youngsters at the moment; rocked the world by dating a 20-years-old Bulgarian tennis
ace, Grigor Dimitrov. According to NY Post, 30-years-old American was seen at the restaurant L’Avenue with Dimitrov; having a cosy lunch. They visited few places in Paris before marching towards the tourist romantic hotspot, Eiffel Tower.
She further added, “I don't know if you just throw everyone's name in a hat and figure out what happens next. Regardless, we want to do really well and take home a medal for the country. That's what it's all about.”
Serena is a class act and her appearance delights the fans all across the globe. If she decides to choose Roddick as her partner, it will be a most devastating combination of two rocket-paced serve masters. Technically their
counterparts will be happy to make a successful return to their serves. They will be unstoppable but assuming Serena’s love for young blood, it looks like she will end up with Isner which is relatively a weaker team.
