Serena Williams plays for her fans and glory – Tennis Special
Former world number one, Serena Williams, always have some stunning news for her fans and this time she feels like everyone on earth wants her in action. Why not; she is a world class act and when she gets going, no one can stop her; not even her own soul.
She is reported to have said, “I am feeling good, but it's just the first round. It doesn't matter who you play, but I hope to keep up my good form and to keep on going. I don't feel as much pressure these days. I am competitive and when I go on court I want to perform my best. I aim to go out and to do things right. If I do that, then I hope that the results will follow.”
Williams is 30-year-old at the moment and still one of the best tennis players in the world. She has all the traits to power down her competitors at this age but her chronic medical issues are keeping her out of action that is a bit frustrating for her fanatics.
However, she cleared the air by stating, “I love walking on court and have people coming to see me play. It is still a thrill and I see it as the ultimate compliment that I have a talent that people come to watch." She likes to have a lot of fan following and she never gets sick of it because they are the one who made her whatever she is today.
Sometimes it gets a bit too hectic to carry a celebrity status. You are under the eye of a camera almost all day 24/7 and that hurts the personal life to some extent but Williams is happy to be still attractive to most of her fans who want her to play forever.
She stayed out of action for quite a long time due to the undisclosed medical issues. In 2011, she played in the US Open and never returned to courts before the start of the new season. Her first appearance was in the year’s first Grand Slam tournament, the Australian Open. She won her first title of the season in Charleston when she lifted the crown of the Family Circle Cup. She is back in business and cruising her way to the advanced stages of the Mutua Madrid Open.
It is good to see celebrities acknowledging their fans and playing for them. They pay to see them and they should be given some respect for that. Sometimes harsh responses and ignorance can lit a candle of hatred in the heart of a fan that is not fruitful for the sake of sport. The balance between a healthy personal life and a professional one is never easy to find but a true sportsperson will find it with ease because it’s not her duty but passion.
Williams has the ability to overpower anyone on her day and she is still one of the strongest contenders to win the title at the blue clay courts of Madrid, Spain.
